What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Accessing function panel
I was in need of a new camera & have been leaning towards a high end, multi-lens camera but I enjoy taking pictures spur of the moment. My last 3 cameras were Nikons and my experience with them has always been good but they didn't have long term life. I reviewed the Canon products & settled on the Powershot. I haven't been disappointed. I love the fact that it can fit right into my pocket. The picture quality is very good- very sharp! This is a good quality camera for a good price.

What's great about it: Wifi feature, decent pictures
What's not so great: odd controls, plagued with errors and failures
I bought this camera as a gift. At first it worked great. Within a few weeks it started having issues saying the battery was not charged. Then the lens cover jammed half way open and made a terrible scratch on the lens. The camera was useless. I sent it to Canon for repair as it was too late to return it to Best Buy. Canon wanted to charge me almost as much as I paid for the camera just to fix it. Thanks but no thanks. Very very disappointed with this product and Canon in general.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Now what i usually do with reviews is i go through and read the different ones to pick out the pros or cons that would effect me the most. For example on this negative review i would take it with a grain of salt simply because if you buy a camera and it does not work or something is wrong with it take it back this guy would of had to have  to wait over a week to open it up to find it this way. So the problem of getting it this way would be easily fixed and highly unlikely

What's great about it: Picture Quality!
What's not so great: small
This camera replaced an Olympus super zoom SP-610uz.. The pictures are much much better on the new Cannon! This camera is small and requires some getting use to with the pop-up flash location where you would usually put your finger. would recommend seeing one in person before purchasing. But over time will get use to the size and placement of flash pop-up. Also "On/Off" button is close to "picture" button and have accidentally turned off camera instead of taking picture. I am sure I will get better with more use and experience with the camera.

What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: weight, lack of focus, pop up flash
I regret being talked into this phone. It is heavy from one hand use. You must keep you fingers away from the pop up flash which is in an inconvenient spot. The wait time after you actually snap the photo until you can take another is too long. The photos are always blurry and out of focus. The pop up flash is a time waster and ridiculous to use
You can't take a photo on the fly because it takes too long to focus. Nothing like a film based camera. It's awful and pricey.

GPS Tech

With our smartphones navigating better than ever what is to become of the dashboard GPS's that used to be so desirable. I know that back in 2007 when i was delivering pizzas for papa johns it was a life saver to have one of those nifty little things on the dash but the problem came when it started raining. Leaving me to revert back to my old ways of navigating with a map, which i would forget most of the roads because of the dependency that i built on the GPS. Now days, however, our phones can do everything that those can and even a little more. Not having to depend on hefty subscriptions or map bundles, our phones can find restaurants, shops, and other things we need to find. But where is it all going? Whats going to be the next step in our techno leap?

In this blog written by David Hambling,

http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21728985.600-new-positioning-technology-could-compete-with-gps.html

He talks about a new positioning technology that uses ground based sensors instead of the traditional satellites that have been used. This technology can help people get through there favorite cities or an unknown shopping mall. The high level of precision has many possibilities. They are still in the testing phase but is expected to see some sort of release in 5 years.

Another probably sooner advancement in GPS tech is the GPSIII system which is in the production phase in Colorado

Colorado at center of new global positioning technology GPS III

By Kristen Leigh Painter

She talks about how GPS is basically owned by the US Air Force that is given to the American public for free. The new system will improve dramatically our existing GPS infrastructure and including farming implications and weather forecasting.

Google Chromecast

For most of us we dont have a way to watch those movies or listen to music straight out of your tv without a bunch of wires and little adapters that can get pretty messy. Google has done it again coming out with a little device that can connect your laptop, smart phone, or tablet with an adapter that plugs into your tv. Personally i have my tv hooked up to my tv as a monitor but a majority of the people that i have seen do not and do not even know where to start to hook it up, or dont want to. I know most of us have tried to watch a movie with someone else on your tablet or tried to show someone a youtube video on your phone. You end up crowding around this little device to try to see the screen which most of the time has a glare. Well you dont have to do that anymore! It also supports Netflix, Youtube, Google play movies, and Pandora.

What do you think is this something that you would want to buy? Or if you have one would you recommend it to someone else? Let me know in the comments below.

Tips for building a computer!

A few months ago i set out on a venture to build a computer. Ive done some research on it in the past and decided that it was not going to be that hard to do. Well when tax return money came in i went to Frys. Here are a few tips that might help you when building a new computer. This information is meant mostly for those that have a little knowledge on computers but not experts.

1. Do your homework on what you want out of your system. If you want an awesome gaming machine or just a home pc, make sure that you know what you want before buying the parts.

2. Have a budget set do not go in thinking that you are going to be frugal because it is much more tempting to buy the best when each upgrade only cost 5 or 10 dollars more.

3. Go online and find reviews of the products that are suitable to you. look and see what people are saying about different parts. Sometimes the most expensive parts actually have more problems than the more reasonable parts and when you buy something you want to make sure that it is not just going to crap out on you in a little bit of time. I made this mistake on the computer that i recently built and didnt look up reviews on the power supply and it ended up crapping out about 7 months afterwards. Leaving me to buy a new one dropping about 200 dollars, which as you can imagine is no good.

4. A lot of the people at places like Frys or Best Buy know what they are talking about but not all of them. Be very careful on what you take as good information, especially when they work off commission. This can lead them to tell you stuff that they are not sure about to make the extra money off the sells. However if you make a list of the parts and dont just go up there expecting to get all the pieces to build your pc off their knowledge then you should be ok. just stick to you guns and look up reviews like your spending millions!
